On a cold sunday afternoon in November we decided to get together and make some more music. This time using a minimal approach and a stronger emphasis on ambience, both tracks were recorded live in a single take and solely improvised.

On both tracks we made heavy use of a Watkins tape echo unit. We were able to build a swelling drone with the guitar and so create a constantly modulating background to improvise over. On the second track a drone was created by a simple tone generator and sent through the tape echo. Starting out with sporadic riffing on the oud and occasional chirps from flute or percussion the rhythm slowly shifts to a more meditative swell incorporating extended techniques from the guitar and simplistic melodies on the saxophone.

We're pretty pleased with how these turned out and hope you will enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed playing.
